An enthusiastic and active crowd were on hand for the 2011 edition of the C.W.A. sale.  The quality of the cattle was the deepest in recent years, and the active bidding throughout the sale underscored that fact.

$8900.00 – ACC Princess Wynonna 1W.  A red polled 2009 daughter of Waukaru 2109 Gold 4188 and Braebank Princess Rhapsodi 5R.  Anwender Cattle Co. Radville, Sk. consigned this female that had caused quite a stir from the moment she was entered.  This female is easy keeping and has tons of volume and was bred to ACC General 4U.  Bidding came from many of the top herds in Canada and when the dust settled Shane Sawley, Melville, Sk. owned this top brood matron for his relatively new herd.

$5700.00 – Uphill Rose 5Y.  Ross Gray, Uphill Farm of Hamiota, MB. consigned this dark roan feminine daughter of Birdtail G Gus 15U that has all the makings of a fancy competitive yearling for her new owner Justin Kristjansson, Forrest, MB.

$5500.00 – Lehne Minnie 9Y.  A thick, deep bodied, moderate framed daughter also sired by Birdtail G Gus 15U.  Evergreen Lane Farms , Munroe and Cherie Lehne, Amisk, AB. consigned this competitive female that sold to KFC Farms Ltd. Abbotsford, B.C.

$4700.00 – Bell M Ashton 7X.  Bell M Farms, The Moellenbeck Family, Englefeld, Sk. offered this deep, soggy, AR SU LU Massive 3140 daughter.  She sold bred to the past Denver Champion TM Gus 36X and the resulting calf will be an exciting one for her new owners Peckover Farms, Lampman, Sk.

$4400.00 – Shadybrook Patent Pending 33Y.  An own son of the Waukaru Patent 8161 bull that has been breeding extremely well for Shadybrook Farms, West Brome, QC.  This solid red herd sire prospect is out of the prolific AR SU LU Orange Blossom 340 female.  This bull’s bright future will be in Morristown, TN., U.S.A. in the herd of Bill Bales and Family.

An outstanding set of females were on offer at the 2011 edition of the Alliance Sale. The consignors from Saskatchewan and Alberta dug deep in their herds and brought out some really sound functional cattle.

$5300 - Lot 11 - Lehne Princess 24Y.  Consigned by Munroe Lehne this deep, feminine powerful Saskvalley Vigilante female was purchased by Charles Peckover, Lampman, Sk.

$2700 - Lot 12 - Peckover Sophia 54Y.  First time consignor Charles Peckover brought a red polled daughter of past CWA Champion Glenford Real World 45S to town.  This female was purchased by Bender Shorthorns, Neudorf, Sk.

$2500 - Lot 16 - Long time consignors Gary and Linda Rose had the fancy deep ribbed Gar-Lind Frances 46Y in their lineup this year.  She was purchased by Casey and Tanner Muri, Swift Current,Sk.

Top Selling Bred Females

$5100 - Lot 9 – Lehne Miss Duchess 129T.  An own daughter of Alta Cedar Ultimate 130K this four year old was described by her owner; Munroe Lehne, and many who saw her as the “Perfect Cow”.  After some hot bidding she will see her new home at Rocking L Shorthorns, Wawota, Sk.

$4800 - Lot 17 - Muridale Slew 9X.  A Saskvalley Bonanza 219M female had a lot of attention prior to the sale for Muridale Shorthorns.  This deep bodied maternal machine will be seeing her new home at Lloydminster,Sk. in the herd of Matlock Stock Farm.

$4600 - Lot 8 - Creekside Candy Cane 19X.  Once again a first time consignor, Wendy Bishop & Family, entered a brood cow in the making.  This roan Saskvalley Tandem 34T offspring was a popular pick of many.  She too will be going to Rocking L Shorthorns, Wawota, Sk.

$4400 - Lot 14 - Gar-Lind Sindy 61X is a real attractive free moving long bodied female once again consigned by Gar-Lind Shorthorns.  Another one of the top females purchased by Rocking L Shorthorns ,who assembled five females for their elite herd.
